Firstly the jacket smells terrible, that out of the way the set is not really what you would be expecting but my kids enjoyed them tremendously which is really all the review a parent needs. I am surprised that a year on some of the pieces are still alive... The batteries can definitely be replaced if they do last that long. I do like the lights and the stethoscope that makes sounds (bought 4 sets and all stethoscopes still working). I got them at 40% off so I have no complaints.
