Good taste, but contains Sodium Nitrite :(
As I don't eat pork, this is a great alternative to bacon, but since learning that it contains Sodium Nitrate, I will no longer be buying this product until this ingredient is removed. Under high-heat cooking conditions, it can react with amines to form nitrosamines, which are associated with adverse health effects. They are known carcinogens raising cancer risks in humans. I wish Woolworths would could become one of those ultimate health grocery stores that really look out for their customers, focus on healthy living and offer more options for customers who are on a weight-loss journey.
