Oh, so fun

This is a smaller nook than others that I have built. But the Private Investigator nook it offered so much opportunity for customisation. I added Chicago gang era pinups (and some photos of my wife) to the walls, got some newsparer front pages on Al Capone and made it look like newspapers on the floor and desk, some wanted posters pasted on the walls, and yellowed the light. A crumpled 'Dear John' letter on the desk explains the bottle on the floor. I did not use the flower pot. What self-disrespecting PI would have a flower pot? Small, but great fun.

So much scope for customisation!

A very nice build. The overwhelming dark brown invited some sprucing-up, and I used metallic silver, gold, copper, purple and blue colouring from a metallic Cricut pen set I had (not available on Takealot, alas), some other hobby paint colours (Army Paint kits available from Takealot), small images from printouts from astronomy/astrology magazines, and yellowed the lights. Hours of fun and creative opportunity. It looks good with the others, growing collection, of book nooks on my shelves.
