Definitely auto open and close. Won't have to worry about getting wet while trying to close an umbrella when getting in the car. Material is thick, almost Pleather like inside therefore sunlight doesn't pass through. It's a pretty big umbrella when opened and small enough to fit in bag. The only negative thing about it was the damp smell, very unpleasant but mostly dominant on the cover so hopefully the rain will wash the smell away and the cover can be washed.

Strong and practical
Food quality - very sturdy. I also love the nifty handle - can easily attach my dog's leash to it, so that I still only use one hand for leash and umbrella.
