Works well to keep my server going, but gets really hot
I was hesitant buying this because of the negative reviews on battery life. But people try use this as backup power, thst is not what it is meant for, it is there to power your devices long enough to allow you to save your work and shut down the computer. Having said that, I have a server running 24/7 and started getting regular power outages (not loadshedding, unplanned) and I needed something to allow me to safely shut down the server to avoid damaging the hard drives. This UPS is perfect for that, it even allows me to have a shutdown signal sent to the server when it goes on to battery. Some people complain about the loud buzzer, I somehow managed to turn it off and don't know how to turn it back on, which is fine by me, so no complaints there. The only problem I have with this unit is that it gets really hot. To the point that you cannot touch it. It baffles my mind that they did not add a fan like some of their other models. For now I stuck a pc fan on the outside and that took care of the heat, but unfortunately it still didn't get rid of the burning plastic smell.
